Oppo-R9s review

Image
Oppo-R9s review Oppo has always offered great build quality on their smartphones and they have outdone themselves with their latest R9s. The design is far from original, but the execution trumps most phones on the market – it’s thin and light and the six-string antenna design is the first of its kind. Recently, a sub-genre of the 5.5″ premium mid-range market emerged and the R9s is among the best of them. These phones focus on camera performance and battery life, without going full flagship. The camera is certainly flagship grade on paper – with the latest Sony sensor that supports Dual Pixel autofocus and a very bright f/1.7 lens plus 4K 2160p video capture, the Oppo R9s challenges the best of the 2016 camera phones. A 16MP camera on the front promises great selfies too. Oppo chose to power the phone with an efficient (if not fast) Snapdragon 625 and paired it with a generous helping of memory – 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. You won’t see brashly advertised, but the phone bear...

Official Samsung Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus images leaked

Image
Samsung is set to announce  its Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus on August 13th , but we’re getting a pretty good look at the device two weeks ahead of time. Prolific phone leaker  Evan Blass has released  what’s said to be official press renders of both new devices. For good measure, he’s released a set of specifications for the Note 5 as well. This isn’t  the first time  we’ve seen  these two heavily-rumored devices , but it’s certainly our best look yet. The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus looks exactly like what its name suggests — it’s a bigger S6 Edge. The Note 5, meanwhile, looks like it shares a similar the Galaxy S6’s handsome metal-and-glass design, though it has slightly sharper corners from the looks of it. According to Evan Blass, the Note 5

Nokia Android Smartphone

Nokia Android Smartphones Set to Launch at MWC 2017 The firm behind Nokia’s comeback has confirmed its presence at MWC 2017, tipping that the Finland-based company may finally launch smartphones at the event. Back in May, Nokia had announced that it will grant HMD Global, a Finland-based company, the exclusive global licence to create Nokia-branded mobile phones and tablets for the next 10 years. The news goes in-line with a recent report that claimed that Nokia has planned its comeback for next year. In a presentation slide reportedly showed at the company’s Capital Markets Day 2016 event, the company pointed that it will make a return to smartphones putting all doubts to rest. If this turns out to be true, then Nokia will be launching its first mobile device since the Nokia N1 Tablet. Furthermore, Nokia has also confirmed that CEO Rajeev Suri will be speaking at MWC next year, and this rumoured smartphone is expected to be unveiled then. HMD Global in order to complete i...

Reliance Jio next big plan: Disrupt market with 1Gbps broadband service

Reliance Jio recently launched the wireless 4G services in India. So far the overall performance of the Jio 4G has been mixed. Some argue - or rather argued in the initial weeks that followed the launch - that it is the best thing that ever happened in India's 4G scene. But of late, not many people are saying nice things about the service because the data speed is down and a few other other issues continue to plague it, although it is still in beta (testing phase) and the commercial launch is still weeks away. But the problems -- real or perceived -- with the Jio 4G are not deterring the company. Even as it works to fix the Jio 4G, it is also working on newer services, which it hopes will help it gain even more momentum in the market. One of these services is 1Gbps wired broadband service. Although there is no definite timeline when Reliance Jio rolls out the new services, including the wired broadband, the company has already started testing some of those in select...

Image
JIO WANTS EVERYONE TO HAVE JIO SIM AND LATEST EFFORT TO ACHIEVE This will involve selling feature phones priced as low as 1000 Reliance Jio's Lyf phones have been selling in India for quite some months now, however, the company still needs to tap the rural and tier-III markets for its data services and mobile business. According to a report by Economic Times, Jio may soon launch a series of feature phones with 4G VoLTE support. The phones could be priced as low as Rs 1,000. The report said that Jio may try to reach out to the consumers who are first-time data users in rural areas. "Jio wants to tap all the segments in the country and sees huge potential in the rural areas, which it now aims to tap with VoLTE feature phones," said the report. There will be two feature phones, if the report is to be believed, priced at around Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500. Reliance may launch these phones in the first quarter of 2017. Although these are feature phones, mean...

Google Translate just got a suberb

Image
The search giant says it's made a "leap" in giving you more natural translations. It's just one step in a big push in machine learning that Google detailed Tuesday. Google said Tuesday it has vastly improved its Google Translate app, available on phones and the web. The search giant said it's now incorporating "neural machine translation" into the software, which means it can translate whole sentences at a time, instead of breaking the text down to smaller chunks and translating those pieces. The result is translations coming out more natural, with better syntax and grammar, Google said. "It has improved more in one single leap than in 10 years combined," Barak Turovsky, the product lead for Google Translate, said during a press event at Google's San Francisco office. Besides English, the new translation system is coming to eight of the 103 languages supported by the app. They are French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Chi...
